Sassy Studio Sunday #17

Hello Everyone!!!
Welcome to Sassy Studio Sunday!...
Today I have a fun tutorial for cute gift box..and its GREEN project, we will recycle or I should say Upcycle some craft supplies.
Lets start with the supplies....

1 sheet of 2" x 2" cardstock, double sided DP,  riddon,Scor-tape, nestabilities -Large scallop circle and circle dies, a Sassy image (colored) and the thin chipboard from the back of the paper pads we use for crafting...Yeah will recycle it now.
Step 1:

Cut 2 scalloped circles out of thin chipboard( Back of the paper pad) and 4 scalloped circles out of the cardstock..using the Spellbinders large scalloped circle die...if don't have that die you can use any other thing to cut out above all into 5" circle( can use a small dish too).

Step 2:

Make a sandwich of two cardstock circle with the chipboard circle in the middle..just to cover the chipboard...adhere firmly...Repeat again to make two of it. This will the base and the top of the box.

Step 3:

Cut 1 strip of 2" X 11" piece of cardstock and another 1"x 11" piece.
Cut 7-8 pieces of 1/2" x 2" cardstock.

Step 4:

Apply scor-tape to short end of the 2" x11" cardstock strip and adhere the ends to form a pipe like circle.
Step 5:

Fold the 3 -1/2" x 2" strips into half...apply scor-tape and adhere to the circle in a L-pattern ..as shown in the picture above.
Step 6:

Adhere the circular rim to the base scallop circle... then adhere smaller circle die-cut piece of the DP inside
(I used the largest die from the Large Scallop Nesties and second largest circle die from the Large Circle nesties.)
This makes the base of the box..

Step 7:
Repeat steps 4-6 with the 1" x11" strip of the cardstock to form the lid..check to make sure the the lid fits perfectly inside the base.

Step 8:

Now the pretty part...adhere another die cut circle on the top of the box...added the Sassy image ..I used the TEDDY BEAR..I love it . I also added a die cut heart which can be used as a tag to write a message or name.
I just added a strip of 1 1/2" x 11" strip of DP on the outside of the box to make it  prettier..but its optional.

Embellish it  anyway you like..I added a lovely bow and Faux stitching with a white gel pen..

It will a perfect for candies, jewelry, small craft supplies...etc..a fancy gift box for someone special.
Hope you all like this tutorial .
If you try out my tutorial this week and  link your project up using Mr. Linky below you will receive a FREE dollar deal image.  Please have your project linked up by Saturday, Feb 6th.
Thanks for stopping by...

Welcome to Studio Sunday 16: Copic Tutorial

Hi everyone! Jen here.... I'm manning this week's Studio Sunday and for my tutorial I'm going to do a couple of Copic demonstrations. I'm posting four different tutorials: skin, hair, jeans and the peasant top. I ended up with a whopping 48 steps after coloring this image so I sorted them all into four slide shows. For best viewing stop the slide show and advance it manually.

I'm starting off with Hippie Chic, I really love this digi. She may be my all time favorite, lol.

Here is a short tutorial on Caucasian skin though this really applies to all skin tones, just using different colors. (I recommend stopping the slide show and click through the images using the arrows.) For Caucasian skin I use Eoo, E02, E04 (lips) and R20.

Next up is her hair. For this tutorial I'm going to make her a blond but really most of this applies to all hair colors. For blond hair I like to use Y21, E31 and Y26.

Now on to the jeans. For jeans I like to use B21, B32 and B23.

And lastly her soft pink shirt, I used RV10, RV21 and RV11.

I hope you found these helpful! If you have any questions you can drop me a line here or at my blog http://deconstructingjen.com. I'll be posting the card I made using this image later today!

Now onto the goodies. If you try out one or all of these on ANY Sassy Studio Designs image and post your project and link back here you will receive a FREE Dollar Deal image from Lindsay! How cool is that?!?

Thanks for playing along!! :D Happy Sunday! :D

It's Studio Sunday!

Photobucket

Hi there from me...Anita!!! :) I am super excited to be here at the Sassy Studio Designs blog on Studio Sunday sharing my first ever tutorial. Go easy on me since this is my very first one, okay blog friends? Lol. Today I'm sharing how to paper piece using digi images. Paper piecing is an absolutely fabulous way to add wow factor to your projects AND use up smaller scrap pieces of patterned paper...gotta love that!

The tools used for today's project are:

Super sharp scissors
Cutting mat
Craft knife
Quickie glue pen

First you will print two copies of your fave Sassy Studio Designs digi image, one on cardstock and one on copy paper.

Next, adhere a scrap of patterned paper to the image printed on the copy paper using scotch tape.

Load the piece of copy paper that has the patterned paper adhered to it back into your printer and reprint the digi image. The result should look like this:

Remove the patterned paper and scotch tape from the piece of copy paper, and discard the copy paper. Now, begin cutting the patterned paper using your *super* sharp scissors. Cut the image in the manner you prefer. I prefer to cut outside the black line if there will be no coloring medium (like Copics) touching that portion of the patterned paper, and I cut right on the black line in areas where coloring medium will be touching the patterned paper.

Tip: Cutting using the part of the scissors closest to you (where the V meets) will allow you more control.

Certain parts of the image may be difficult to cut using scissors. In this instance, I chose to cut out the feet and toes using a craft knife and mat pad.

Here is what the patterned paper looked like when all of the cuts were completed. Color the image that the patterned paper will be adhered to.

Use adhesive to attach the patterned paper to your colored digi image. I love using the Quickie glue pen to attach the smallest pieces of paper.
That's it! It's easy peasy, right? I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial. If you have any questions (or suggestions on how I could improve my tutorials...lol), please feel free to contact me at anitabestampin@gmail.com. If you are wondering how I ended up using my image, please check out the card I made at www.anitabestampin.blogspot.com.

Now, onto the really good stuff...just for trying out paper piecing with digis and linking your project up using Mr. Linky below you will receive a FREE dollar deal image. Woot woot! Please have your project linked up by Saturday, January 23rd.

Thank you so, so much for stopping by today!
