National Scrapbooking Day Challenge

Good evening, hope all is well with you.  Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day, and our new release. So we couldn’t let that go by without a challenge.  Our challenge to you is to create a layout with at least one Sassy image on it.  It can be a traditional, digi, or hybrid layout.  The challenge will run from right now to 5 pm PST Saturday evening.  At that time the DT will get together and choose a winner.  The winner will receive 3 Sassy images of their choice.  So, here’ some inspiration for you!

Yep it is the 40th Earth Day!

OK I am a recycling NUT! my recycle big is always full my trashcan hardly ever full! when we finally get our house my sis recently told me our local waste management will give you 2 recycle bins at no extra cost! Love it! my garage sadly to say has huge black trash bags of cans and bottles etc cuz well i can get money for those he hee

But for reals I hate things like Styrofoam...hate it!

Hate throwing away anything plastic because well its worse than Styrofoam

and I hate when people just throw away electronics, batteries, light bulbs (the fluorescent ones) because those things need to be disposed of properly

And my hubby and I and my parents and my uncles wife are all working on our own home gardens as well.

Don't get me wrong I am not perfect I don't have a hybrid or electric car almost got one but just too pricey one day when prices go down I will so get one but for now my good ole Corolla gets great gas mileage at least, and ya know organic foods are good but I don't buy all organic once again...recession, can't afford it. You know and thats the truth, but I do try to do the little bit I can and especially all us crafters, all the papers we go through I always have tons of scraps or mistakes that go in the trash and most of that paper can be recycled.

Baby Bump was on of my 1st ever digi's I brought here to SSD when I opened and well she's a lil sad and not so smooth along the edges like many of my pre halloween images and that is just because I used a different computer editing technique, and soon I will probably be taking all those oldies but goodies away and replacing them with fresh new images, and so I thought this was a great way to freshen up and change and revamp and modernize baby bump so she can stay with us a bit longer!

don't forget your freebie, and maybe take an extra step for our mother earth today pick up that piece of trash someone threw or dropped on the ground, don't throw away recyclable bottle or can in the trash if their isn't a special bin make an effort to bring it home with you.... maybe ride your bike or walk instead of take the car, but every little bit helps:)

in all my Earth Day Happiness I forgot 2 HUGE HUGE HUE bits of news!

1 it isn;t final yet....but it is looking very very promising, we are finally going to be getting our house! we should be signing papers by the end of this month so cross your fingers, toes, eyes, arms, legs etc etc etc and say a little prayer or 2 o r 3 but we might be FINALLY getting our house! (been going through escrow since Dec.)

and .... I am going to be an Auntie!!!! My lil sis (I say lil she's only 2 years younger and she's 23 married for just over 2 years etc but still shes my baby sis) She just found out she is pregnant and I am going to be an Auntie! he hee

so what a week!!! yay!!!

Time Flies when your Busy!

SO this week completely flew by me! I haven't forgotten about you all I swear I have been working on redoing those old images that were questioned and I have been working on new images as well as all sorts of other lil things to help spruce up SSD and all my regular day to day stuff work church family etc and I have just not finished those images yet... I will still be getting them up as freebies as soon as they are done but I didn't think it was fair you ended up going a whole week with out freebies when i promised lots of them over this wonderful Spring Break we are having!

SO.... I picked a few of my personal Favs! to share with you all this will be up til the 15th and then they will be up for sale in the store still. So I hope you all have a wonderful day/Weekend!

and I have some emails I haven't had a chance to answer yet so if you are waiting to hear from me I'm trying to get through all of them this weekend so I do apologize for any delays.

...well I have to go for now today is a very important day! ...Confirmation Day! yep we have a great group of teens making their confirmations today so I have to head over to the church to support them as well as help make the ceremony run smoothly ;)

Christ is Risen!

So I know on occasion I make references to my religious beliefs, and I never mean any disrespect to anyone who may have different views or find it offensive. I support all different views and respects all different faiths. But I am a small "family" type business and sometimes, especially on days like today My heart is filled with joy. Today is a great day. Today is a remembrance that Christ died on a cross so that my sins may be forgiven, and thats my belief and it is what makes me happy. So I want to share my excitement and joy in such a wonderful day with all of you.

So in celebration of this wonderful Spring Break we are having here at SSD and in honor of the wonderful easter holiday, I am offering 2 wonderful freebies to you all!

So I promised you guys a big announcement and now I must deliver. Unfortunately, what I have to say probably isn't going to be what you're expecting, but please bare with me, there are some things I need to address. I'd like to start by saying that first and foremost I appreciate all of you guys. Without you, SSD wouldn't be what it is today and I appreciate that you come back week after week to see what we have to offer. I started this company because I wanted to create fun digital images like no others for you to use and I feel like I've done that. However, recently it was brought to my attention that similar versions of a few of my images were found on the internet. Now, I've never tried to hide the fact that I use other images for inspiration. Looking at various designers and learning from them is part of the design process, but rest assured it was never my intention to create "knock-offs" Unfortunately, after taking a long hard look at some of these images, I have to agree they are a little too close to the originals. So, after much thought and consideration, I have decided that it would be best to remove these stamps from the website. I have tried to contact the original artist to see how we could resolve this issue, but unfortunately, I haven't heard from him so I have decided that the only way to make ammends for the mistake is to revamp the images and offer them as freebies throughout the SSD Spring Break. After Spring Break they will find themselves back in the store...but never for sale always only as freebies. I would like to apologize to anyone who may feel offended or mislead, that was certainly not my intention. I can assure you all future SSD images will be unique and one of a kind. In fact, I'd like to start showing my sketches again on the blog. I really enjoy sharing my creative process and I know it will put everyone at ease. Please do not worry about selling cards/projects made with SSD images, none of them are in violation of copyright laws. If you have further questions about this, I'd be happy to discuss it with you one-on-one. Just send me an email. Again, I appreciate all of you guys and I want you to know I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this right.

Now, with that being said, I'm sure you've noticed that there are a few design team members missing from the list. Sadly, we have had a few members resign for various reasons. We will miss each and everyone of them and we wish them nothing but the best. Each of them was a great designer and I count myself lucky to have worked with them. For now we have decided to continue on with only a few members: Sara, Larisa, and Cassie. However, after we get things back to normal around here, we will be adding more members to the list, so if you're interested in becoming an SSD Designer...start getting your projects ready! Because we now have a much smaller DT, we will be temporarily changing a few things. Studio Sundays will now be held on the first Sunday of each month instead of every weekend. Releases will now be once a month on the 1st of each month and Sassy Thursdays and Saturdays will remain the same. If any other changes occur, I will let you know as soon as possible.

So I know this post took place of what would normally be our Sassy Saturday but it will be back this afternoon. Sara has a wonderful crafter featured this afternoon around 3 so be sure to check back.

And because of these changes, tomorrow though it's the 1st Sunday of the month will not have a Studio Sunday but rather it will host a Freebie.

And lastly, as mentioned those images are being redone and we will feature a new one redone and free to you on the blog every few days over this 2 week spring break we are having so I hope you will come back and see what we have in store

Good Morning all!

Ok so something a little different for today...yep I know it is supposed to be a release day, but no, there is no new release today =(

I know I know so sad. It's my fault really I have been over comited lately with my church and my life, and well the team has been a bit worn out so I thought we should have a

SPRING BREAK!

Now what does that mean to you all? Nope it does not mean we are leaving you hanging.

We are going to take the next 2 weeks and do it a lil different.

We have a big news announcement coming up which will also involve a few changes here at SSD.
