Alice in Wonderland Challenge

As you I am sure have noticed by now this release is all inspired by Alice in Wonderland! I have made it known before I am a huge Disney Girl not only that i am a HUGE Tim Burton fan...HUGE!!! and when you mix the 2 together I am one happy camper lol

So I am hosting a very special Challenge in honor of the upcoming movie and this release!

so if you don't know yet the movie is due to release March 15, 2010!

The Deadline:

SO this challenge is going to run for 1 month! yep I said it 1 month this will end Feb 28th at midnight PST and a winner will be announced on March 1st....now what makes this challenge so special?

The Prize:

Well you will not only win any 5 SSD images of your choosing, but the winner will also receive a $20.00 movie theater gift card to either AMC theaters or Cinemark theaters (the winners choice) to go see the new movie on Me!

The Challenge:

So what is the challenge you ask...well this is the fun part..... It MUST be out of the box!

No standard cards allowed!

I want you to think outside the box I want you to do something that in you mind represents the whole idea of wonderland, something different and not normal and fun what you do is up to you. the only requirements are you must use and SSD image...and SSD image don't limit yourself only to just the sassyland release images consider ALL SSD images. And your project MUST be inspired by the film (what do I mean by that? like I said it must represent wonderland .... but I encourage you to also be inspired by the qualities Tim Burton brings to this film. I have found some wonderful images online to help inspire you

Studio Sunday #21

Hello Everyone!!!

Welcome to Sassy Studio Sunday!...

Today I have super quick tutorial for you all..a fun Carrot -shapped Easter Treat holder...

Lets start with the supplies....

 

 

Template, cardstock, ribbon, Scor-tape, 1/8" hole punch and a Sassy image...I used Sassy March Hare.

Step 1:

Here is a template for you all...

Step 2:

Print the template on the cardstock.... I always print in on the reverse side of the paper..

Step 3:

Cut it out and score it on the dotted lines..

 

Step 4:

Apply scor-tape or any strong adhesive on the narrow tab..like this.

Step 5:

Adhere the ends to form the treat holder and punch the holes using 1/8th hole punch..

Step 6:

Thread the ribbon thru the holes...

 

Step 7:

Tie the ribbon into a bow as closure...and add the colored Sassy image...

Now you have quick and easy Easter treat holder..

A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!!

Hey there Sistahs!! Me again!! How have you been, for the last several hours? Haha! Since my last post, anyway!! I am coming to you with a SMALL request!! A new Announcement!

Thank you all so much for your kind words and support these past weeks with all that has been happening. I am here to announce a few things...one, I made a sad announcement earlier this month that there would be no release today because my injuries had put me behind. But I come to you all today with a very exciting announcement!

There IS a release today!!! yep just now at 5 pm PST i have a new release in the store...well sort of he hee

Last year i did some designs for a company called the Digishack, and well they had to temporarily close shop for a while, they are planning a reopening and relaunch, but the "Lani" line I designed for them is not on the menu...well all accept one...their logo one. So SSD will now offer this line in our store!...not only will we be bringing over all the previous images, but this line will be continued in the future!

SO I hope you will run over to the store and check them out!!!

ALSO bit of news #2 the alice in sassylandy ultimate set will still be up until next release so if you want to take advantage of the special discounted price you have a lil extra time to do so....any yes i know there has been a problem with the sassyland sentiments and i promise i am almost done resolving it and will get those out to all of you who ordered it!

Sassy Studio Sunday #19

Good Valentine’s Day morning to you.  It’s me-Sara, and I’m your hostess for today!  Please please be nice, this is my first ever tutorial, and I’m extremely nervous!!!  I tried to not do it, but they found me-hehe!   So today I’m going to share with you how to do a stair step card. 

For this fun card you will need a piece of cardstock cut 6 x 10 1/2 inches.  You’ll also need your DP, some glue, an image, and any embellishments you want. Oh and one of the most important things that you’ll need is a scor-pal or some other tool for scoring.   I did keep mine very simple today, because my DP already have enough on it for me!!

Next you will need to score the paper at 2 1/2”, 4 1/4” and 6”.  If your using a different scoring tool, you’ll need to score at 1 1/4”, 2 1/2”, 4 1/4”, 6”, and 8 1/4”.

Now, I’m going to try to explain this next part without confusing you to much!  If your using the scor-pal like I am, you’ve noticed it doesn’t have score marks at every 1/8”.  So what you’ll need to do is align the left side of your paper at the 3” mark and score again at the 4 1/4” mark.  Next slide the 6” score line on your CS to the 2” mark and score again at4 1/4”. 

Now fold all your score lines in the mountain/valley style.

This is how it should look.  Now get your dp and start measuring.  You’ll need to cut to these measurements.  1 3/16” x 6”, 1 5/8” x 6”, and 1 7/8” x 6”. 

Next glue those down on the folds as shown above.  Now you get to put you image/ images on to your card.  Like I said I kept mine very simple.  I used a MS punch and 2 SSD cameo images.  My sentiment is computer generated and added a small ribbon below it.
